Bella’s Wedding Dress Designer Confirmed
Move Over Sarah Burton the Designer Has Been Named for the Wedding of the Year

Carolina Herrera Bridal, Spring/Summer 2011
2011 is a big year for weddings, Kate Middleton, Kate Moss and ... Bella Swan? For a generation of girls, and some adults, the wedding of the year is not that of Royalty or fashion Royalty, but the wedding of Isabella Marie Swan and Edward Anthony Masen Cullen in the fourth instalment of the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn.
Described in the novel as Edwardian style, satin with a long line of pearl buttons up the back, Carolina Herrera has been confirmed as the designer who created the dress for the movie. Although the newly released trailer shows glimpses of the wedding scene and InStyle magazine even managed to get a number of designers to sketch their vision of Bella’s dress, Herrera was not one of them and the actual dress remains tightly under wraps.
Herrera describes her 2012 bridal collection as “relaxed chic” and tends to go for simple, classic lines with minimal decoration so one has to wonder how she will pull off the elaborate period detail of the Edwardian era. On the other hand we may expect a very elegant dress that, while not historically correct, has echoes of Edwardian style.
