Starburst Prom Dress

If you are a regular reader of the site you will know that we have featured a number of unusual prom dresses over the years, we have had a coffee filter dress, duck tape dresses and a dress constructed out of coke ring pulls. This year, however, the prize for the most creative prom dress goes to Wisconsin teen Tara Frey who will be attending prom in a dress constructed entirely out of Starburst wrappers.

The dress which boasts intricately woven together wrappers took Tara’s mom six years and five failed attempts and required buying bags of Starburst 20lbs at a time, although she did not count exactly how many Starburst went into the dress. Mrs Frey also made a matching bag, shoes, and waistcoat for her daughter’s date. The icing on the cake, though, is that the theme of this year’s prom is ‘candyland’, when asked Tara admitted that she “kinda lucked out on that one”.
